Prince Rogers Nelson, known popularly as “Prince” or “The Artist Formerly Known As Prince”, was born 7 June 1958. He was an incredibly popular musician and a household name, known for primarily for his eclectic music, extravagant style, flamboyant personality, and wide vocal range. His accomplishments over his career include selling 100 million records, winning 7 Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award. Prince charted once on Top 10 Songs, posthumously, with his hit song “Purple Rain”. “Purple Rain” was on the chart for one week, peaking at number 9. Prince continued his musical career until his untimely death at the age of 57 on 21 April 2016. Prince will always be remembered for his musical innovation and larger than life personality.
